In an interview with XXL, Smith said that he decided to make a new album after his friend and collaborator Justin Timberlake encouraged him to get back into music. “He was like, ‘Yo, you need to make some new music,'” Smith recalled. “I was like, ‘I don’t got no ideas man.’ He was like, ‘Don’t worry about it, I got you.'”
Timberlake also executive produced the album alongside long-time Will Smith collaborator Harry Fraud.

This is not the first time Smith has returned to television since his breakout role on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. In 2015, he starred in the short-lived NBC series “Constantine”.

As for what we can expect from his new music, Smith says it will be “something completely different” from what he’s done before. “I’ve gotta find my zone on this one,” he said. “I don’t know what that is yet, but I’m in the studio just playing around.”
We’ll have to wait and see what Will Smith comes up with next, but we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait.
