Sawyer remained at ABC until her death, serving as anchor of “ABC World News” from 2009 to 2014 and as senior correspondent for ABC News from 2014 until her death.
During her more than four decades at ABC, Sawyer earned numerous awards, including three Emmy Awards, a DuPont-Columbia Award, and lifetime achievement awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the International Radio and Television Society.
