Google News Alerts are a great way to stay on top of the latest news stories about your company, product, or industry. Here’s how to set them up.

If you want to be among the first to know when something happens, sign up for Google News Alerts. You’ll get email notifications whenever Google News finds new stories on your topics of interest.
Here’s how to set up a News Alert:
-Go to google.com/alerts.
-Enter your search terms in the “Create a new alert about” field.
-Choose how often you want to get notified from the “How often” drop-down menu. Your options are: as-it-happens, once a day, or once a week.
-Choose the type of results you want from the “Delivery method” drop-down menu. Your options are: email or RSS feed. If you choose RSS feed, you’ll be prompted to enter your RSS reader’s address. Learn more about using RSS with Google News.
-Click Create Alert.

From the drop-down menu, select “Even more from Google.”
You’ll be taken to the News home page. On the left side of the screen, beneath “News for you,” click “Customize.”
You’ll be taken to the “Google Alerts” page. In the center of the screen, beneath “Create an alert about…,” enter a keyword or phrase that you want to be alerted about.
In the drop-down menu to the right of your keyword or phrase, select “Show options.”
Under “How often?” select how often you want to receive alerts. Your options are: “As it happens,” “At most once a day,” and “At most once a week.”
Under “How many?” select how many results you want in each alert email. Your options are: “Only the best results,” “All results,” and “Only new results.”
Under “Deliver to,” enter an email address where you want to receive your alerts. You can also choose to receive alerts as an RSS feed.
If you want to be the first to know when something happens, set up a Google News alert. You can get alerted about breaking news stories, recent publications about your interests, or even updates on your favorite sports teams.
To create a Google News alert, follow these steps:
1. Go to https://news.google.com/?hl=en-US&tab=wn in your web browser.
2. Search for a topic you’re interested in receiving alerts about. For example, if you want to be alerted whenever there’s news about coffee, search for “coffee.”
3. In the menu that appears, click Settings.
4. In the “Alerts on this topic” section of the page that appears, click the switch next to “On.”
5. In the “Delivery method” drop-down menu, select how you want to receive your alerts: by email or RSS feed. You can also choose how often you want to receive alerts and how many results you want to see per email or RSS feed entry.
6. When you’re finished making your changes, click Done.
Enter the topic you want to be alerted about in the “Search Query” field.
You can be as specific or general as you want. If you want to be alerted every time Trump is mentioned, simply type “Trump.” But if you want to only be alerted when Trump is mentioned in connection with a certain topic, like “Russia,” then type “Trump Russia.”
In the “How Often” drop-down menu, choose how often you want to receive alerts. Your options are: as-it-happens, once a day, or once a week.
In the “Sources” drop-down menu, choose where you want your results to come from. Your options are: all news, blogs, discussion groups, Webpages (which includes everything except news and blogs), and comprehensive (which includes all of the above).
In the “Delivery Method” section, choose how you want to receive your alerts. Your options are: email or RSS feed.

Under “Sources,” choose which sources you want included in your results--All Sources, Only the Best Results or Customize.
Select Show Options to further customize your results. You can choose the region for which you want to receive results, the languages in which you want results delivered and how many results per email alert.
When you’re finished making your selections, click Create Alert.

Google News Alerts is a great way to stay up-to-date on the topics that matter to you. You can choose to receive alerts as they happen, once a day, or once a week. You also have the option to receive your alerts in your inbox or as a feed.
To create a Google News Alert, follow these steps:

2. In the “Create an alert about” box, enter the keyword or phrase you want to track.
3. Select how often you want to receive alerts and where you want them delivered.
4. Click Create Alert.
You can manage your alerts by going to Google Alerts and clicking on the pencil icon next to any alert. From there, you can edit or delete your alert.
